Located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, this new track will connect the Joint Access Spur (JAS) north of the Village of Jansen to the CN Watrous Subdivision east of the Town of Nokomis, Saskatchewan. This 47 km long spur will facilitate the movement of potash from the BHP Jansen mine to international markets through a west coast port in British Columbia. The project will bring significant economic value to neighbouring communities. The new rail line is expected to be in service by September 2025 (Jansen Stage 1). The project is planned in different stages (Utility Construction, Grading & Drainage, Mainline Connection South Track Construction, and Mainline Connection North) over a two-year timeline. CN and all the project partners are committed to work collaboratively with communities throughout the construction project, and to provide regular updates on the project’s progress through Information Bulletins.","Built on CN-owned land in a provincially designated employment zone, CN’s Milton Logistics Hub is a sustainable intermodal facility under construction in Milton, Ontario. It will help meet rising demand for efficient, low-emission freight transport and support goods movement across Southern Ontario and Canada. The Milton Logistics Hub was approved by the Government of Canada in 2021 following a rigorous environmental assessment. Construction is currently underway. The facility is expected to be operational by 2027. Milton offers strong infrastructure, access to 400-series highways and CN’s mainline and is designated for employment use with minimal environmental disruption relative to other sites. It’s also adjacent to a growing cluster of warehouses and distribution centres—making it an ideal location for efficient goods movement and supply chain connections. The Milton Logistics Hub is being built as an intermodal facility, where shipping containers are transferred between trains and trucks to move goods efficiently. These containers can carry a wide variety of goods, including household products such as groceries, electronics, clothing and more. By shifting much of the journey to rail, the facility will help meet the rising demand for efficient, low-emission freight transport and support goods movement across Southern Ontario and Canada. The $250 million investment is expected to create 130 direct on-site jobs and support more than 1,000 in the goods movement sector. Once operational, the facility is planned to handle up to four intermodal trains per day, each removing close to 300 long-haul trucks from highways."]
